How to Create Survey Questions
To begin adding Survey questions, navigate to the build tab for your Event. Click on the Event Part to which you wish to add questions and you will be taken to the Event Part summary page. You can also add questions to the overall Event and these will appear at the beginning of your Survey (more on this later).
Your first decision will be to decide whether to add Survey questions for the People List or the Places List (assuming you have attached both types of Lists). Think of this as deciding which kind of attendees you need to add questions for. If your Event Part is a carpool, then the People might be riders and the Places would be drivers. In this case you might ask the People (riders) questions about seating preference and baggage. Then you would ask the Places (drivers) about car type, fuel economy, number of seats, etc.
However, perhaps you are sorting wedding guests (People) into tables (Places). In this case, it wouldn’t make sense to ask questions of the tables, so you would only need to add questions for the People List. For whichever List, you decide to add questions, the process is the same. Simply click on the List selector at the top left of the Event Part page.
After selecting the List, you will need to determine if you are adding questions for attendees or non-attendees. This allows you to ask important questions for invitees that choose not to attend the Event Part such as “why aren’t you attending?!”.
Click on the link “+ Add New Question” below the attendance type that you will be adding a question for. You will then see the Add Question page.
In order to add a Survey question to the Event or Event Part, you will need to fill in all of the fields for the selected question type. Each question type has a different set of fields, but at the minimum you will need to enter the question text, name for the data field that holds the responses, and determine whether the selected question is required. After filling out these fields, simply select “Continue” to add the question to either the “Questions If Attending” or “Questions If Not Attending” section. You will then return to the Event Part page and see the added question under its respective section.
During the Send phase, you will have the ability to send these questions out to attendees which will allow them to respond via their web browser or through the Eventene mobile app. Creating Questions is covered in greater depth in the article “Creating Questions for Send”.
